Requirements- please record in this order and submit in DVD format
Ballet- Please limit this segment to 5 minutes
Center floor- Grande plie in center, developes front, side , back
Adagio combo demonstrating body positions, arabesque at 90 degrees, and multiple pirouettes
32 count petite allegro demonstrating beats
Grand Allegro demonstrating waltz turn, saut basque turn and fouettes
Jazz- 3 minutes or less
Combo demonstrating flexibility, leaps, pirouettes, and personal style
Hip Hop- 1 minute
Freestyle
Tap- 1 minute or less
Combo demonstrating basic tap technique and rhythm
Please submit your $35.00 Video Audition Fee with the Video No Later than June 4, 2010.
You do not have to include all of the following in your audition video but this is an example of skills that a dancer could perform on the video. We really just wanted to see the dancer and whatever their ability level may be.
Ages 4-6
- Performance skills
- A basic understanding of Ballet positions and steps.
- splits, pile, ten due, battement, pirouette, arabesque, jete
Ages 6-9
- Knowledge of all basic ballet terms and steps
- Double pirouette on both sides
- Performance skills
-Right and left split leaps
- High Kicks on both right and left sides
- Tours on either right or left side
- Develope and tilt on either right or left side
- Center leap
Ages 10-13
- Knowledge and demonstration of all ballet terms and steps
- Clean Triple pirouette on both sides
- Performance skills
-Right and left split leaps
- High Kicks on both right and left sides
- Tours on both right and left side
- Develope and tilt on both right and left side
- Center leap
- Illusions
- Calypso leaps on both sides
- 90 degree arabesques on both sides
- Strong control throughout all of their movement
Ages 14 and up
- Knowledge and demonstration of all ballet terms and steps
- Performance skills
- Clean Triple pirouette on both sides
